Princess Cimmaraya Elora Silvanestra was born to King Raven Xavier Silvanestra and Queen Daisha Elora Nashanka-Silvanestra exactly one minute after midnight, making her birthday the day after the summer solstice. Her twin sister, Crown Princess Raeshka Auriana Silvanestra, was born on the summer solstice a single minute before midnight. That two minute headstart on life made her the elder daughter and heiress.
Though the two girls were identical twins, they were opposites in coloring. Cimm's hair was an unnatural silver and her eyes the same, Raes's hair was raven black and her eyes more grey than silver. Raes had skin that was creamy white, Cimm's was a tawny golden tan. Yet another oddity was the unnatural height and slimness of both, plus the single odd color streaks through their hair. Cimm's streak was raven black and started at her left temple, Raes's was silver and started at her right.
Their personalties were as wildly different as their coloring. Cimm was bold, outgoing, fearless. A definite take charge type of leader. Raes, on the other hand, was quieter, more... delicate. Growing up, the two were inseparable. A case of opposites attracting, I suppose. Their parents and aunt, Princess Kalyka Vairia Nashanka, had a hard time keeping them in line as rebellious as they were throughout childhood and into their teens.
When the girls were fourteen, Princess Kalyka left. Traveling was most everyone's guess. She actually moved to a very exclusive planet that didn't often allow outsiders, but that's another story. Cimm looked up to her Aunt Kaly very much and was upset by her "disappearance" more than anyone else. Her rebelliousness got worse, and even Raes tended to be hesitant about her various schemes then. In fact, Raes began changing almost as much as Cimm, except in the opposite direction.
It was a few more years before the Cimm began to stop being such an utter rebel. She was still as blunt and opinionated as always, but now there was more substance and understandable reasons behind her feelings and opinions. When it seemed as she was going to get as settled as would be possible for her, she, too, left as Princess Kalyka had. And she stayed gone for three years. The reason for her leaving is not often told or discussed. That is about to change.
The cause of the problem arrived on Nefriesha when the girls were sixteen. He was eighteen year old Crown Prince Aleksandr Vladimir von Gliechén of Mnlèchen. He was a tad taller than the norm for his age and family. Fair-haired, trim, strong, beautiful bright blue eyes... ideal man if all you went for was looks. Behind the handsome face, and body, was an extremely analytical and comprehensive mind. And a good, kind heart. Both Cimm and Raes fell for him on sight.
During Ambassador Gliechén's two year stay on Nefreisha, things rapidly got worse between the twin princesses. Halfway through the second year, they could barely even stand to be in the same room with each other. And then it happened. Alek confessed his love for Raes. Cimm was crushed. Shortly before Alek had to go back to Mnlèchen because of a family tragedy, Cimm left home for what would be three years of traveling with no particular destination.
She took little with her, just some clothes and money. Cimm never speaks much of what occurred or where she went during that time. Everyone noticed how well she looked and how well, though simply, she was dressed when she returned. Clothing she had definitely not had with her when she had left.
It was on her way home that she met Samca. In fact, he was living on land that he had bought from her family. Land that was supposed to belong to her when she returned. Fact of the matter is, her family had by this point given up all hope of her return. Samca was quite handsome. Even more handsome, perhaps, than Crown Prince and Ambassador Aleksandr Vladimir von Gliechén of Mnlèchen. In all truth, Samca was Crown Prince and Ambassador Samcadaris Alexander de Liana of Maélan. And Cimm fell in love with him as she had with Alek, but, as she says, even more so.
Samca was with Cimm when she reunited with her family at the castle on Nefreisha. It was also his first sight of Raes. Though he appreciated the uniqueness of both twins, he claims he never felt anything more than a friendly type of attraction for Raes. Cimm had teasingly pretended to not ever believe him on that point, but always knew that he loved only her. As I'm sure you've guessed, Samca and Cimm did marry at a furthur point in time, and had two children, daughters both. They were the Princesses Shiara Skye and Aramyna Alanndra, 'Ara the elder since she was born two years, two months, and three
days prior to Ara.
Now, I'm afraid I must tell you of a much more tragic occasion. The death of Crown Prince and Ambassador Samcadaris Alexander de Liana of Maélan. It was only months after Raes and Alek had finally married. An assassin of unknown origin killed him from a distance while he and Cimm were out in the forest of the land they owned near the castle. Cimm fell into an utterly devastated depression. When she did manage to pull out of it, she was filled with an immense anger. She saw to it that her children would be well looked after and cared for, then left again, this time to seek out and bring to justice the one who murdered her husband and true love. And so she is even now.
